Sealy Mattress Posturepedic Elite Spring Collection Review: All 7 Models Explained
Let's start off with the features that all of these Posturepedic Elite models are going to have in common.
Really, the centerpiece of those is going to be the support system. The centerpiece of that is this brand-new coil that Sealy developed in connection with their redesign of Posturepedic in 2025 and beyond.
Precision Fit Coil System
The star of the show is this new coil, which they call the Precision Fit Coil.
It's basically offering increasing firmness as you go deeper into the mattress. What that does is it allows it to provide more nuanced conformance and support for different shapes, sizes, and weights of sleepers.
These Precision Fit coils are being used from head to toe in the support system.
DuraFlex Edge Coils
You'll notice darker blue smaller diameter coils going around the perimeter.
Those are what they call DuraFlex coils. They essentially form a stronger edge.
By putting smaller diameter coils around the edge, you're basically getting more steel around the edge of the mattress to give those beds a stronger edge.
Max Support Coils
In the center third of the mattress, you have other smaller diameter coils called Max Support coils.
These are designed to slide in between the Precision Fit coils to put more steel where it's needed most.
This center third is important because it is where all of us carry the most weight.
Putting more steel there gives you more support where you need it most.
Total Coil Count
The Precision Fit coils, DuraFlex edge coils, and Max Support coils are present on all of these Posturepedic Elite mattresses.
The total coil count of all those is going to be 1,066 in a queen size.
Quilted Surface Design
All of these Posturepedic Elite spring mattresses are going to have a quilted surface.
There is a counterpart collection called the hybrid models, which use some of the same model names like Albany and Brenham.
However, the hybrids are smooth-top mattresses and are specifically called hybrids.
The spring models use quilting to give the mattress a more traditional feel and add softness at the surface.
Memory Foam in the Quilting
What's interesting in this Elite level of the Posturepedic collection is that the quilting in many cases includes a little bit of memory foam.
This puts some of that memory foam feel right up at the surface of the mattress.
Additional Center-Third Memory Foam
All Posturepedic Elite spring mattresses also include an additional half-inch of memory foam in the center third of the mattress.
This strip is designed to further enhance center support and provide more robust support for your hips.
Memory foam becomes particularly more prevalent in the Brenham models than in the Albany models, but it is present in all of them to some degree.
Cooling and Cover Features
The cover itself is shared across all models.
Sealy Chill Technology
The cover includes what Sealy calls Sealy Chill.
This is a higher-density yarn woven into the fabric that creates a cool-to-the-touch sensation.
The coolness comes from the fact that a higher-density yarn has an inherent coolness to the touch, much like a marble table feels cooler than a wood table.
Surface Guard and Moisture Protect
The covers also contain Surface Guard and Moisture Protect.
These features are designed to help keep the mattress and cover dry and fresh over time.
Eight Convenient Handles
All Posturepedic Elite spring mattresses include eight handles.
There are two handles on each side, including the head and foot of the mattress.
These handles make rotating or moving the mattress much easier.
Edge Support Performance
The edge support comes from the smaller diameter DuraFlex coils around the perimeter.
Testing showed that these Elite spring mattresses range between good and excellent edge support.
Tight Tops vs Euro Tops
Tight top models tend to perform slightly better for edge support.
Euro tops have additional cushioning that can make the edge feel slightly less solid.
Firmer models generally offer stronger edge support than softer models.
Even so, the entire collection ranges from good to excellent in edge support performance.
Albany Collection Models
The Albany level includes two choices:
Albany II Firm Tight Top
Albany II Euro Top
Albany II Firm Tight Top

It contains the least amount of memory foam in the collection.
Albany II Euro Top
Feel Ratings
